The work, published on June 19, Juche 86 (1997), clarifies the idea that it is the fundamental principle to be maintained in accomplishing the socialist cause to preserve the Juche character and national character of the revolution and construction and indicates the tasks and ways for doing so.

The work also calls for preserving the patriotic stand and the principle of national independence in the revolution and construction and indicates tasks and ways for building our own driving force and struggling against imperialism and hegemony.
