Taehongdan Revolutionary Museum Opens
Taehongdan, October 1 (KCNA) -- A revolutionary museum was newly built in Taehongdan County, Ryanggang Province to convey the exploits of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu to posterity.

On display there are photos documenting the revolutionary exploits of the peerless great persons of Mt. Paektu and hundreds of historic materials, relics and legacies.

President Kim Il Sung established state-run Farm No. 5 in the Paektu Plateau on July 30, Juche 41 (1952) during the Fatherland Liberation War and visited it several times to indicate the orientation and ways to be followed by it.

Anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk gave wheat seeds which she kept with much care to a woman living in a log cabin on the shore of Sadong-stream on the historic day when she returned to the homeland accompanying Kim Il Sung.

Leader Kim Jong Il visited the county several times and called for shining long the revolutionary exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Suk and kindled the torch for bringing about a radical turn in potato farming and opened a new history of doing farming on a scientific basis with the help of machines in the vast Paektu Plain.

An inaugural ceremony took place on the spot on Wednesday.

Present there were Ri Sang Won, chief secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, An Mun Hak, chairman of the Provincial Rural Economy Committee, officials concerned and people of the county.
