New Technology of Chlorella Culture Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- A new technology of chlorella culture was developed by the Chlorella Industrial Laboratory in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

In this regard, KCNA met Yon Phyong Hyok, director of the laboratory.

Yon said:

It took more than 10 years to put culture of chlorella on an industrialized basis.

The new technology of chlorella culture made it possible to mass-produce it.

The technology is incomparably superior to that employed by other countries.

With the technology developed, chlorella can be cultured totally with raw materials available in the country.

The new species of chlorella seed entirely conforms to the domestic conditions.

It can yield more than 20 tons of chlorella annually per one hectare of nursery.

The laboratory has made 10 kinds of health products with chlorella.

The products are considered to be efficacious for preventing cancer and liver disease, as well as for the growth of children.

The technology was awarded a national inventions certificate, while the products were awarded best prizes at different international exhibitions and expositions.
