The contest, divided into compulsory and voluntary programs, was attended by 60 persons, including workers, office clerks and students selected from provinces and municipalities.

The contest was held in forms of reading on-the-scene reports on matches and scripts for sport common knowledge and announcing games on video.

Its standings were published before an awarding ceremony on Saturday. The first place was taken by Kang Kum Ju, a student of Pyongyang City Commercial School.

A judge told KCNA that the contest was of significance in finding out more persons talented in art of sport announcing and improving their abilities.
