The contest brought together at least 200 players selected from 15 units including the National Taekwon-Do Team, Korea University of Physical Education, Central Physical Training College and teams of Pyongyang, provinces and the Sunchon Cement Complex.

The contest was divided into groups A and B. Participants played events in sparring and pattern competitions and exhibitions for special skill, demonstration shows and self-defense matches.

The Pyongyang City Taekwon-do team came first in team standing.
