Journalists, Media Persons Start Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu
Hyesan, September 17 (KCNA) -- Journalists and other media persons from across the country began a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.

An inaugural ceremony took place in front of the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo on Sept. 17.

The participants placed bunches of flowers before the statue of President Kim Il Sung at the monument and paid tribute to him.

Cha Sung Su, chairman of the Central Committee of the Journalists Union of Korea, made a speech.

He said that the study tour will mark an occasion in deeply grasping the greatness of the leader, firmly arming themselves with the revolutionary traditions of the Workers' Party of Korea and establishing the anti-Japanese guerrilla method of work and way of life in media activities.

He called upon the journalists and other media persons to bear deep in mind the noble intention of supreme leader Kim Jong Un and more deeply cherish through the study tour the revolutionary feats the President performed by leading the anti-Japanese war to the brilliant victory.

They should train themselves politically, ideologically and physically and give full play to the strong will, indomitable fighting spirit, the strong sense of organization, discipline and the noble spirit of collectivism while marching following the footsteps of the anti-Japanese martyrs, the speaker said, adding:

They should produce good works while keeping in mind what they see, hear and feel while making the study tour.

At the end of the ceremony, journalists and other media persons headed for the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site.
