Rodong Sinmun Blasts S. Korean Authorities' Moves to Escalate Confrontation with DPRK
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- Despite the DPRK's consistent efforts for the improvement of the north-south relations, a breakthrough has not yet been made toward dialogue. This is entirely attributable to the south Korean puppet forces' vicious moves to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in an article.

Accusing the south Korean authorities of blocking dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south through frantic moves for confrontation, the article goes on:

The DPRK side's delegation to the north-south high-level contact urged the south Korean authorities to show sincerity for improving the north-south ties by putting an end to the confrontation campaign such as anti-DPRK balloon operations.

The south Korean puppet forces should neither deceive the public through the hypocritical talk about "dialogue" nor resort to such foolish act as trying to shift the blame on to the DPRK.

Such act is not helpful to defusing mistrust and confrontation between the north and the south but will only push the bilateral ties to a more serious phase.

Dialogue can never go together with confrontation.

If the south Korean authorities are truly interested in the north-south dialogue, they should take a bold decision to respect and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, put an end to the north-targeted joint military exercises and eliminate legal and institutional mechanisms that stand in the way of achieving reunification.

Doing so would be the first step for opening the door of dialogue.
