Stamp Show of Philatelists of DPRK and Russia Closes
Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- A stamp show of philatelists of the DPRK and Russia closed with due ceremony at the Korean Stamp Museum on Saturday under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Union of Philatelists and the Russian National Philatelists Academy to mark the 66th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Present at the ceremony were Kim Yong Gil, chairman of the Korean Union of Philatelists, Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, officials concerned, working people and philatelists in the city.

Also present there were members of the delegation of the Russian National Philatelists Academy headed by President Andrei Strygin, Ambassador Alexandr Timonin and staff members of the Russian embassy here.

Certificates, medals, participation certificates and honorary member certificates of the Russian National Philatelists Academy were awarded to philatelists and organizations of the two countries who participated in the show.

Then followed speeches.

Speakers said the show which was held amid the ever-mounting atmosphere of the traditional DPRK-Russia friendship offered an important opportunity of helping the peoples of the two countries know well about their history and culture and boosting the ties of friendship and cooperation.

They expressed expectation that multifaceted cooperation and exchange between the organs issuing stamps and philatelists organizations would grow stronger in conformity with the aspiration and desire of the governments and peoples of the two countries.
