DPRK Premier Makes Field Survey of Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex
Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- DPRK Premier Pak Pong Ju made a field survey of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex.

Going round the heat production shop, the turbine shop and various other places of the complex, the premier greatly encouraged its workers and learned in detail about the production there and management of equipment.

A consultative meeting of officials concerned was held on the spot. It discussed issues of improving the management of equipment and technical control to operate generators in full capacity, giving priority to the supply of materials needed for overhauling generating equipment and increasing the generating efficiency.

The premier called upon all officials and workers of the complex to focus all their efforts on boosting the electricity production, bearing in mind that increasing the production of electricity at present is part of the drive to implement the party's idea and defend the party's policies.

Earlier, the premier went round the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine.

Referring to the important role to be played by the coal mine in settling the acute shortage of electricity, he discussed the ways of increasing the coal production.

Meanwhile, he learned about the work at the Central Mining Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences and underlined the need for its scientists and technicians to reliably guarantee the building of an economic power with scientific and technological achievements.
