U.S. Troops Urged to Withdraw from S. Korea
September 10 (KCNA) -- The Institute for Strategic Studies affiliated to U.S. Army College of War recently made public a report which said the U.S. forces present in south Korea are not effective in the light of "important change of strategic environment" and "increasing expenses" and they might be "inactive victims". A senior fellow at the Cato Research Institute of the U.S. contributed an article to the magazine Forbes asserting that U.S. forces' presence in south Korea is not necessary any longer.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a commentary:

This proves that the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea is quite contrary to the times and a major factor of disturbing peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of Northeast Asia.

The commentary goes on:

The U.S. imperialists suffered a bitter defeat in the Korean War in the 1950s after igniting it. However, they have bolstered up their troops in south Korea both in quantity and quality, watching for a chance for a new war for aggression, far from drawing a lesson from their defeat.

South Korea has turned into a base for a war for invading the DPRK and the rest of Asia and the biggest advanced nuclear base in the Far East.

The U.S. is going to ignite the second Korean War at any cost, sparking an arms race and increasing the war danger not only in the Korean peninsula but also in the rest of Northeast Asia.

The U.S. forces' presence in south Korea is a leftover of the Cold War.

There is no justification for the U.S. to keep its forces in south Korea.

The U.S. call for permanent presence of its troops in south Korea is an anachronistic and foolish gangster-like logic and a warlike action based on the Cold War-minded way of thinking.

The U.S. troops in south Korea should be withdrawn as early as possible. If not, they would be wiped out to the last man in case of emergency.
