Stamp Show of Philatelists of DPRK and Russia Opens
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- A stamp show of philatelists of the DPRK and Russia opened with due ceremony at the Korean Stamp Museum on Tuesday under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Union of Philatelists and the Russian National Philatelists Academy to mark the 66th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Displayed at the venue of the show was a photo reflecting the stamp depicting President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

On display there were stamps dealing with the history, culture and present development of the DPRK and Russia including the stamps on Pyongyang and Moscow collected by philatelists of the two countries.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kim Yong Gil, chairman of the Korean Union of Philatelists, Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, officials concerned, working people and philatelists in the city.

Also present there were members of the delegation of the Russian National Philatelists Academy headed by President Andrei Strygin, Igor Sagitov, minister-councilor and staff members of the Russian embassy and staff members of various other embassies here.

Speeches were made there.

Speakers said the show opened amid the expectation and interests of the two countries and it would offer an opportunity of deepening the history of friendship between the two countries.

They noted that the two countries have conducted exchange and cooperation in the field of stamp from long ago.

At the end of the ceremony the participants went round stamps on display.
