Kim Il Sung, Founder of DPRK
Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) -- The Korean people are sorely missing President Kim Il Sung, founder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with the approach of its anniversary (September 9).

Kim Il Sung launched an armed struggle to liberate Korea from Japan's colonial rule.

After the country's liberation, he had worked heart and soul to found an independent and sovereign state representing the interests of the entire Korean nation. Since the country was divided into two, he stressed the need to build a unified government without interference of outside forces and called upon the local people to get united in the efforts to build a new, democratic Korea.

He also paid attention to instituting the constitution of the new country and its name as well as national emblem, flag and anthem. He saw to it that the dignity of an independent and sovereign state was vividly reflected in the national emblem and the national flag.

Under such deep care and guidance of Kim Il Sung, the birth of the DPRK was declared to the world on September 9, 1948.

As seen above, he is the founder of the DPRK, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, as well as the father of socialist Korea.
