DPRK Pays Efforts to Crop Growth Forecast
Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is directing bigger efforts to the crop growth forecast.

In the country forecast for crop growth is given once every ten days by the crop growth forecast headquarters, which comprises of dignified scientists at the Hydro-meteorological Service and the Academy of Agricultural Science.

The forecast helps ensure the nation's farm works in right time and on a scientific basis, as it informs of agrometeorological conditions and follow-up technical measures.

The Hydro-meteorological Service has striven to guarantee the reliability of forecast on such agrometeorological conditions as average temperature, rainfall, percentage of sunshine, soil humidity. Meanwhile, on the basis of weather forecast, the Academy of Agricultural Science has indicated technical measures to be taken for the growth of crops and extermination of harmful insects.

Each province, too, intensifies the regional crop growth forecast, in close touch with the branches of the Academy and the Service in its area.

Such brisk crop growth forecast is conducted with the help of the Ministry of Agriculture.
