The Defense Sports Team of the Korean People's Army renewed the previous records in the women's team 10-meter air rifle and the men's team 10-meter running target mixed of the Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize. And the April 25 Sports Team set a new record in the women's 50-meter breaststroke of the Sports Contest for Jonsung Cup.

At the Junior Championships, new national records were set in more than 10 events including men's team 10-meter air rifle and weightlifting.

A weightlifter of the Taeryonggang Sports Team renewed the record in men's 59kg jerk by lifting 11kg more. He made new records in snatch, jerk and totals, drawing attention of experts.

Also, new records were made in men's 45kg and 54kg and women's 35kg and 38kg weightlifting events.

The 51st National Games of Juvenile Sports Schools, too, witnessed new records in swimming.
