Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- South Korean people from all walks of life are staging a series of actions in demand of the institution of a special law for the probe into the truth about the ferry Sewol disaster, according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People.

On Aug. 25, students of Seoul National University, Kyonghui National University, Ehwa Woman's University, etc., professors of the Council of Professors for Democracy and other citizens marched from Seoul National University and Kyonghui National University to the Kwanghwamun plaza in Seoul, demanding the present chief executive make a decision for instituting a special law.

Then the demonstrators arrived at the place where bereaved families were staging a sit-in strike in the teeth of the obstructions by the police and handed a placard to the bereaved families in support of their action.

In the meantime, members of the south Korean Catholic Priests' Council for Justice also held a hunger prayer meeting at the Kwanghwamun plaza on the same day to demand the probe into the truth about the disaster as early as possible.

They demanded the regime institute a special law giving the right to investigate and indict those responsible for the tragedy in order to ensure a thorough probe into the truth about the disaster.
