Korean Youth Movement Adorned with Heroic Struggle and Feats
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The young people of the DPRK are significantly celebrating the Youth Day (August 28).

The Youth Day was set by leader Kim Jong Il to commemorate the inauguration of the Young Communist League of Korea by President Kim Il Sung on August 28, Juche 16 (1927).

The young Koreans have carried on heroic struggle and performed great feats in the annals of the Korean revolution, developing their movement under the deep care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

They laid down their lives without hesitation for the victory in the anti-Japanese war and the Fatherland Liberation War.

They also took the lead in building a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence. Even in those days of the Arduous March, the forced march, they made distinguished contributions to defending the Workers' Party of Korea, the leader and the country and building a thriving nation.

Now the Korean youth movement has been put on a new stage of its development under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The young people in the DPRK are performing heroic feats in such important projects as the construction of power stations in tiers on the Chongchon River and stockbreeding base on Sepho tableland.

It is a great pride of the DPRK to have those youths who are devotedly working for the prosperity of the country and the people's happiness, true to the guidance of the WPK and the leader.
