Suppression of Pro-Reunification Activist Assailed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea issued a statement on August 26 denouncing the puppet forces for cracking down on Rev. Han Sang Ryol.

Han visited Pyongyang in June, 2010 to take part in the events common to the nation marking the tenth anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration. The puppet group of traitors threw him into prison right after he crossed the demarcation line at Panmunjom, branding his just patriotic activities for reunification as criminal acts. After he was released after the three year-long prison life, the puppet forces have watched his movement by invoking the "law on supervision for public peace".

They arrested him once again on August 25 for the mere reason that he failed to inform of his movement under the law but were compelled to release him next day, pressurized by public opinion.

The statement said this evil law together with the "Security Law" should be abolished as they have been used to suppress the freedom of idea and conscience.

The current violence revealed only the absurdity of the "law on supervision for public peace", it charged.

It demanded the authorities abolish the law at once and discontinue the suppression of Rev. Han.
