S. Korean Authorities Urged to Show Action to Mend Inter-Korean Relations
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet forces are setting up such perfunctory mechanisms as "preparatory committee for unification" and "committee for economy and unification" and talking about "cooperation between south and north in environment, culture and people's living" and "basic plan for developing south-north relations". They went the lengths of blustering that if the inter-Korean dialogue is resumed, "it is possible to discuss any issue in which the north is interested" while persecuting and suppressing people who call for implementing the north-south joint declarations, stopping the war maneuvers against the north, lifting "May 24 step" and resuming tourism of Mt. Kumgang.

Commenting on this, Minju Joson Thursday says those who do not know about the facts behind the scenes may think that the south Korean puppet authorities are working to mend the inter-Korean relations and settle the reunification issue.

It is a cynic ploy of the puppet forces to mislead public opinion by orchestrating such unfit burlesque, the commentary notes, and goes on:

If they are truly interested in mending inter-Korean relations and settling the reunification issue, they should halt the nuclear war maneuvers against the north aimed to do harm fellow countrymen in the north in league with the U.S., to begin with.

The inter-Korean relations are being deteriorated as now because the puppet forces are kicking off the war maneuvers despite the protest and denunciation of all Koreans and repeated warnings of the DPRK.

Whether the July 4 joint statement the keynote of which are the three principles of national reunification and the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration the core of which is the idea of By Our Nation Itself are implemented or not is a yardstick discerning whether they are interested in mending the inter-Korean relations and settling the reunification issue or not.

But the puppet forces are repeating their bad habit of putting forward "new proposals", turning their faces away from the issue of implementing the north-south agreements whenever the regime is replaced by a new one in south Korea.

Whether they are interested in mending the inter-Korean relations and settling the reunification issue or not will be proved in practice, not with words.
