The process is for extracting high-purity aluminum from such waste materials as oxidized aluminum electric wires. It was developed by researchers of the Metal Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

This new process helps produce 99.9 percent aluminum with less consumption of electricity, while reducing environmental pollution.
