Institution of Special Law on Ferry Sewol Disaster Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Bereaved families of the ferry Sewol disaster and people from various circles of south Korea held a rally at the Kwanghwamun Plaza, Seoul on Aug. 23 in demand of the institution of a special law on probing the truth behind the disaster.

Speakers at the rally accused Chongwadae of refusing to lend an ear to the voices of people calling for reflecting the demands of the bereaved families in s special law on the ferry Sewol disaster.

To institute a special law on investing the fact-finding committee with the right to investigate and indict those responsible for it is the demand of not only the bereaved families but also all people, they stressed.

Then, they staged a demonstration toward the scene near Chongwadae where bereaved families were staging a sit-in strike in demand of an interview with the chief executive.

When policemen blocked their way, indiscriminately suppressing them, the demonstrators launched a sit-in strike in protest against their crackdown.

Meanwhile, the puppet police hurled a lot of vehicles and troops into encircling the venue of the bereaved families' sit-in strike to prevent citizens of various circles from joining the protestors.
