Tablet to Honor Kim Jong Il Unveiled in Russia
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- A tablet to honor leader Kim Jong Il was unveiled at Bureya Railway Station in Amur Region, Russia.

The tablet reads: "Comrade Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, visited Bureya Railway Station on Aug. 21, 2011."

An unveiling ceremony took place on the spot on Aug. 21.

Present at the ceremony were personages of different social standings and other masses in Amur Region and the vice consul general and consuls of the DPRK in Khabarovsk.

The stationmaster of Bureya Railway Station and the vice consul general of the DPRK unveiled the tablet.

A floral basket, bouquets and flowers were laid before it.

The stationmaster said:

It is great pleasure and honor to unveil the tablet to honor Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the third anniversary of his historic visit to the Siberian and Far Eastern regions of the Russian Federation.

Three years ago I was fortunate to receive Comrade Kim Jong Il when he was visiting Bureya Railway Station.

It is our hope that we will be able to welcome supreme leader of the Korean people Comrade Kim Jong Un to Bureya Railway Station without fail.

The general director of a company said that having the tablet to honor Kim Jong Il at the station is a reflection of boundless reverence of the people in Amur Region for him and it is symbolic of Russia-DPRK friendship.
