Foreign Media Mark Anniversary of Korea's Liberation
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Foreign media carried special write-ups on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The Lao paper KPL News on August 15 carried an article titled "Korea's liberation, turning point of history" illustrated with a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung. It went on:

August 15, 1945 was a historic turning point for the Korean people. Thanks to the liberation of the country its people could lead an independent and dignified life as masters of their own destiny, freed from the Japanese imperialists' colonial slavery.

Kim Il Sung led the 15 year-long anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory, liberated Korea and successfully accomplished the cause of building the party and state.

The Uruguayan paper La Juventud on the same day carried a similar article illustrated with his photo.

The Bangladeshi paper The Daily Folk in an article titled "Benefactor of liberation" on August 12 stressed that his exploits will always be enshrined in the hearts of the Korean people and progressives.

The Guinean Domestic, International and Seven National Languages Broadcasting Services on August 14 said that the reality of the DPRK in which fresh leaping forward and innovations are being made in building a thriving socialist nation helped one recollect again the historical meaning of Korea's liberation which provided a turning point in hewing out the independent destiny of the people and achieving the prosperity of the country.
