Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in Benin, Nigeria
Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- There took place a seminar and film show in Benin and a film show in Nigeria on Aug. 14 and 15 on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Films shown included Korean films "The Arch of Triumph" and "Arms of Korea".

Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, said:

President Kim Il Sung led the protracted anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory.

Looking up to him as the sun of the nation and savior of national liberation, the Korean people valiantly rose up in the anti-Japanese war led by him.

The Korean people finally achieved the cause of national liberation on Aug. 15, 1945.

A vice-president of the party said:

After achieving the historic cause of national liberation, Kim Il Sung founded the Workers' Party of Korea, organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people.

Under the leadership of the WPK the people's government was built and agrarian reform, nationalization of major industries and all other democratic reforms were carried out with success in Korea in a short period after its liberation. As a result, the working people became the masters of the country, factories and land.

At the film show in Nigeria speakers praised the President for achieving the historic cause of national liberation and saving the Korean people from the colonial slavery. They added:

The exploits performed by Kim Il Sung, benefactor of Korea's liberation, will always be enshrined deeply in the hearts of the Korean people and progressive humankind.
