Release of Those Remanded in Custody on Charge of Involvement in Attempted Rebellion Demanded
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification on Aug. 12 issued a statement demanding a verdict of not guilty for the Unified Progressive Party charged with the involvement in the attempted rebellion and the release of those remanded in custody on that charge.

The statement said:

The Seoul High Court acquitted them of the charge at the trial on Aug. 11.

This clearly proves that the charge was fabricated by the "government" to eliminate the party by setting the security institution in motion.

However, the court did not make a decision to set them free, claiming that although they are not charged with attempted rebellion but are guilty of agitating it.

The present regime is working hard to tide over its ruling crisis through coloring offensive and suppression under the pretext of security.

The statement demanded the regime halt such crackdown and release those detainees at once.
