US Cannot Conceal Its True Colors as "Human Rights Abuser": Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- U.S. President Obama in a recent press conference at the White House admitted that it is wrong for the U.S. to torture those suspected right after the September 11 accident, adding that it should own responsibility for it.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Sunday says:

The U.S. chief executive admitted the torture on those detained, though belatedly. This is little short of his admitting the fact as the U.S. failed to conceal its ugly colors as the heinous human rights abuser before the world.

The U.S., however, set up secret prisons reminiscent of the veritable hell in other countries and has undisguisedly tortured and killed those detained. Under such situation it has no face to talk about "human rights" in other countries.

If the U.S. styles itself "defender of human rights", it will become undisguised challenge and unbearable insult to the world public giving priority to the respect for human rights.

Those who committed crimes should be punished.

The U.S. human rights abuses can never be overlooked as they are crimes against mankind.

The U.S. had better sit on the dock at a human rights tribunal.
