The KPRA members built smithies in thick forests to manufacture gunpowder and bombs, repair firearms and make ammunition in the spirit of self-reliance implanted by President Kim Il Sung into their minds.

Kim Il Sung personally read reference books to find out a method to make gunpowder. And the KPRA members succeeded in making bombs which were more effective than grenade in killing power.

Kim Il Sung named the bomb Yanji bomb, as it played a big role in battles fought in Yanji County, China.

In the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, the KPRA members tailored military uniforms by themselves and provided even medical treatment.

Thanks to the spirit, the DPRK has turned into a satellite maker and launcher as well as a nuclear weapons state.

The DPRK people encouraged by the spirit have put spurs to the building of a thriving nation.
