British Organizations Denounce Projected U.S.-S. Korea Nuclear War Drills

Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- The progressive organizations of Britain including the Korean Friendship Association UK made public a joint statement on August 2. It supported the statement of the spokesman for the National Peace Committee of Korea which calls for canceling the plan of Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises.

It said:

The U.S. imperialist aggressors, sworn enemy of the Korean people, and their fascist stooge south Korean puppet forces are working hard to stage the Ulji Freedom Guardian from mid August.

They are openly claiming that "tailored deterrence strategy" would be formally applied to the exercises.

All facts go to prove the sinister aim of the U.S. imperialists to ignite a war against the DPRK.

The DPRK has made crucial peaceful proposals one after another to improve the inter-Korean relations and took concrete measures but the south Korean puppet forces, hell-bent on anti-DPRK war exercises together with their American master, have refused to accept the proposals.

The projected war exercises are a serious insult to the DPRK and an act of gravely threatening global peace.
