Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in Benin, Nigeria
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Lectures and film shows took place in Benin and Nigeria from Aug. 1 to 5 to mark the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Korea.

Films shown included Korean films "Arms of Korea" and "Arch of Triumph".

The chief of the Benin Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism said in a lecture titled "Korea's liberation, a turning point of history":

The liberation of Korea was a historic event for the Korean people.

It enabled the Korean people to lead an independent and creative life as genuine masters of the state and society.

The DPRK is admired by the international community as it has firmly defended its ideology, social system and cause, while keeping to the road chosen by it for a long period.

The realities in which the DPRK making a new leaping progress and innovations in its efforts to build a thriving socialist nation once again make people think about the historic significance of Korea's liberation which brought about a turning point in shaping out the destiny of the people and achieving the prosperity of the country.

After seeing a film, the director of a company of Nigeria praised President Kim Il Sung for defeating the Japanese imperialists with arms and liberating Korea.

He said that the DPRK is a strong country defending the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation with mighty arms.
