Those Responsible for Death of Private Should Be Called to Task: S. Korean Media
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- South Korean newspapers on August 7 carried editorials as regards the disclosure of the fact that Kim Kwan Jin turned a blind eye to the death of a private by violence in the 28th Division of the puppet army at a time when he was holding the post of minister of Defense.

Kyunghyang Daily News said Kim Kwan Jin let those responsible be punished with cotton club only after half a month after receiving a report on the death and saw to it that the case was underreported.

The death of privates by harsh violence is unabated because those responsible are not called to task every time the cases happened, it noted.

It called for making an unhindered investigation into all including Kim Kwan Jin, properly probing the truth behind the death of the private and bringing those responsible to account.

Seoul Shinmun said that thorough-going probe into the truth about the case is necessary, adding Kim Kwan Jin should be called to account.

Hangyore said Kim is chiefly to blame for the case.

Hankuk Ilbo noted that the chief executive should seriously call into question those responsible for the case and Kim Kwan Jin should not be an exception.

Internet newspaper Minjok Ilbo on August 6 carried an article titled "It is hard for Kim Kwan Jin to survive". It noted:

Kim Kwan Jin took no measure even though he received a detailed report on the case. This raised the issue of his personnel affairs even within the conservative camp.
