Making Foodstuff Based on Spirulina Spores Proves Successful
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Among exhibits at the presentation of sci-tech successes held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Branch Academy of Light Industrial Science under the DPRK State Academy of Sciences was the method of making foodstuff based on spirulina.

Spirulina is believed to be one of most ideal materials for health foods.

Pak Song Hui, a section chief of the Pyongyang Yusong Foodstuff Factory, told KCNA:

The factory succeeded in nurturing and treating spirulina spores in an industrial way to secure high quality of foodstuffs.

Spirulina-mixed foodstuffs such as ice cream and sugar are rich in protein and amino acid and very good daily subsidiaries.

Spirulina is especially efficacious against radiation damage and poisoning by heavy metal.

The method based on spirulina and its products won a highest appraisal at the presentation.
