Human Rights Abuses against Prisoners Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Joint Action for Releasing Prisoners of Conscience held a press conference in Seoul on July 29 in protest against human rights abuses against prisoners, according to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Minbo.

It recalled that the Seoul prison side on July 17 detained in a room for punishment and investigation a prisoner of conscience who demanded the improvement of treatment of prisoners, and tied his head, waist, arms and legs with handcuffs and other tools and inflicted pain on him for more than 30 hours.

Such hideous human rights abuses are going on not only in the Seoul prison but all other prisons across south Korea, it charged.

It demanded the Seoul prison side apologize for such atrocities, sternly punish those responsible for them and stop at once all maltreatment.
