Prosecution's Action under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- Members of the Unified Progressive Party, the opposition party of south Korea, and their families Monday held a meeting outside the building of the Seoul High Court denouncing the prosecution authorities for demanding heavy penalties for those suspected in the involvement in the case of attempted rebellion fabricated by them.

That day, the prosecution demanded 20 years in prison, etc. for lawmaker Ri Sok Gi and other suspects, asserting that "they made detailed preparations for carrying out a rebellion through a revolutionary organization which defines south Korea as its enemy".

At the meeting, speakers disclosed the prosecution's repressive action, adding that this action could not be taken by any others except for a politically-motivated prosecution.

The prosecution talked about the threat of security, but the arch criminal posing a threat to social security is none other than the present regime and the Intelligence Service, the speakers held.

The regime and the prosecution are making a mockery of the people and the court, they noted, calling for ousting the forces who are working hard to disband the political party, telling lies to the people.

They demanded the court make a correct judgment of the prosecution action.
