News Analyst: U.S. Should Feel Shame
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- It has been 61 years since the Korean people won the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953).

But the U.S. has been shamelessly keen on misleading the public opinion as if the war were ended in a victory for it. It seems that the U.S. is oblivious of miserable defeat it suffered from the war.

At that time, the world public opinion described the Korean war as the one between adult and child, as it had been only two years since the foundation of the DPRK.

During the war the U.S. mobilized huge armed forces and military capabilities, resorting to every conceivable means unprecedented in history.

Nevertheless, the U.S. suffered a miserable defeat in the war for the first time in its history.

When the U.S. tasted a defeat in the general Christmas offensive with its five corps involved, New York Herald Tribune in an article branded it as the biggest defeat ever seen in the U.S. army history.

It was the first time in the world history of sea battles that four torpedo boats of the Korean People's Army sank down a U.S. heavy cruiser. And during a week of October 1951 alone, the U.S. air force lost 20 "B-29" bombers.

Through the aircraft-hunting team movement, the KPA shot down 3 000 U.S. warplanes in two years.

As regards the continuous defeats the U.S. suffered during the war, New York Times said the U.S. soldiers and officers have been keenly aware that arms superiority can not guarantee victory.

After covering the 158th meeting of the armistice talk on July 19, 1953, the Western correspondents reported that the UN forces hung the white flag without any condition.

Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Marshall confessed that the myth of "mightiness" of the U.S. was broken and the U.S. was no longer the strongest country as other countries believed.

MacArthur, the then commander of the U.S. forces in the Far East, deplored that the Korean War was evidently and undoubtedly a failure.

The U.S. had better keep in its mind the shameless defeat it suffered from the Korean war.
