War Victory Day of Korean People Celebrated Abroad
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Events took place in various countries from July 17 to 19 to mark the 61st anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the Fatherland Liberation War.

They included meetings and film shows in Benin, Switzerland and Myanmar.

Present at the events were personages of the Socialist Party of Benin, the Switzerland-Korea Committee, the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Myanmar Medical Research Institute and masses.

Films shown included Korean films "Reply of Korea" and "Arms of Korea".

Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, said:

When the U.S. ignited the Korean war on June 25, 1950 by prodding the south Korean puppet army, President Kim Il Sung set forth a strategy for the Korean People's Army to make a switchover to a counteroffensive immediately. This was a new strategy of counteroffensive that could not be found in the existing military theories and manuals and experience of other countries.

The vice-president of the party said the President advanced unique military war methods in the Fatherland Liberation War and made sure that the Korean People's Army actively used them to record shining pages in the history of modern war.

Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, said the service personnel and people of the DPRK won a historic victory in the three year-long Fatherland Liberation War under the wise leadership of the President.

Tin Tun, director of the Myanmar Medical Research Institute, noted the history of the victory the Korean people achieved in the war by defeating the U.S. imperialists who boasted of their invincibility will shine long along with the century.

Messages of greeting to Marshal Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events held in Benin and Switzerland.
