Halt to Conclusion of Military Agreement with Japan Demanded by S. Korean Organization
Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea held a press conference outside the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 23 denouncing the authorities for seeking a military nexus with Japan.

The organization recalled that south Korea started diplomatic talks with Japan for military cooperation.

Japan recently denied the Kono statement in which the Japanese government admitted its responsibility for sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, and is making it a fait accompli to exercise the "right to collective self-defence", it said, and went on:

Japan's negation of the Kono statement means denying the sexual slavery and history of aggression.

The "right to collective self-defence" is also contrary to the UN Charter.

The south Korean authorities did not properly react to Japan's negation of the Kono statement.

They are trying to back Japan's exercise of the "right to collective self-defence" by concluding a military agreement in the form of MOU.

The organization demanded the authorities stop at once concluding a military agreement with Japan, which poses threat to the security of the nation and peace on the Korean peninsula.
