Victory Won by KPA in Three Days after Outbreak of Korean War
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- In the last Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953), the Korean People's Army liberated Seoul, the citadel of the enemy, in three days after its outbreak.

Such victory was ascribable to President Kim Il Sung's distinguished military wisdom.

On June 25, Juche 39 (1950) Kim Il Sung convened an extraordinary Cabinet meeting and issued an order to repulse the armed invaders' surprise attack and promptly launch an decisive counterattack.

Under his order, KPA combined units rushed into Miari Hill in north Seoul in the evening of July 27, annihilating the aggressors.

With his insight into the enemy's deployment of forces and strategic scheme, the President set forth an operational plan to encircle and wipe out them in the area of Seoul. And he gave an order to start the attack on Seoul at dawn of next day, anticipating that night attack might cause loss of civilians' lives and property and national cultural heritages.

After all, the KPA units' general attack was conducted on July 28 and the city of Seoul came under the control of the KPA side only in three days after the outbreak of the war.
