DPRK's Right to Self-defence Is Inviolable: KCNA Commentary
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The field of the national defense industry of the DPRK has recently achieved such landmark success as developing ultra-precision and high-performance tactical guided weapons in a short span of time and successfully test-fired them.

Strategic force units and other units of the ground, naval, air and anti-air forces of the Korean People's Army (KPA) are, therefore, taking one measure after another to bolster up the nation's capability for self-defence such as the ultra-precision tactical rocket firing and the drills for firing artillery pieces with various missions.

As a result, the KPA has a master key to putting short-, medium- and long-range guided weapons and all other strike means on a world's ultra-precision level and a bright prospect for maximizing the rate of hits and their performance.

The U.S. and other undesirable forces such as the Park Geun Hye group in south Korea are displeased with these achievements.

The U.S. and its allies termed the DPRK's tactical rocket firing a "violation of the resolutions" of the UN Security Council and the routine military drills of the KPA a "politically-motivated low-profile provocation" and "sustained military threat to allies in the region" in a bid to galvanize the international public opinion.

It is illogical for the U.S. to find fault with the tactical rockets of the DPRK, a product of its industry for self-defence.

The DPRK's consistent policy for bolstering the capabilities for national defence including the development of tactical rockets is an inevitable option due to the prevailing grim situation caused by the hostile policy toward the DPRK pursued by the U.S. and its followers.

While pulling up the DPRK over its drills for firing tactical rockets and shells with various missions, the U.S. is staging joint naval exercises with the south Korean puppet forces in the South and East seas of Korea and large-scale joint naval maneuvers in the waters off Jeju Island with nuclear carrier George Washington strike flotilla and group of Aegis destroyer Kidd involved.

It is the truth of history that aggressors coming in attack with nuclear weapons should be countered with nukes only.

Nuclear forces for self-defence are the most powerful means for settling accounts with hostile forces resorting to high-handed and arbitrary practices and posing nuclear threats and for defending the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.

It is thanks to the deterrence for self-defence which the DPRK has bolstered up to cope with the ever-more undisguised aggression war moves of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces that peace has been preserved on the Korean peninsula, one of the world's hotspots.

But for that, a nuclear war would have broken out on the peninsula long ago.

The U.S. and the puppet forces are making desperate efforts to eliminate the nuclear deterrence of the DPRK at any cost while finding fault with it. This clearly proves that nuclear deterrence is the best means for defence which ensures a peaceful environment and stable conditions for the development and prosperity of the country and the nation.

The DPRK's measures for bolstering military capabilities, its legitimate right to self-defence, including the firing of tactical rockets, building of nuclear force and military exercises will remain unchanged no matter what others may say and no matter how the situation may change.

The U.S. and the hostile forces should not miscalculate.
