The statement condemned the repressive moves of the south Korean authorities against advisors, honorary chairman and other elders of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.

To suppress those weak for advanced age and diseases and impose ideological conversion upon them is a base and inhumane act reminiscent of that during the military dictatorial period, it charged.

It expressed concern over the undisguised and massive suppression of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon under the present regime.

No force on earth can block the Pomminryon's long journey for reunification, it said, urging the south Korean authorities to halt at once the suppression of pro-reunification champions and set free all the detainees.
