U.S. Cannot Conceal Its Aggressive and Provocative Nature: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The U.S. started the "drill for intercepting planes" on July 16 accompanied by naval maneuver in the South and East seas of Korea in league with the south Korean puppet forces. It was said that the U.S. will stage large-scale joint naval military drills in the waters near Jeju Island from July 22 with even naval warships of the Japanese aggressor forces involved.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says in an article in this regard:

This is an open provocation against the army and people of the DPRK making sincere efforts to ease tensions on the Korean peninsula and create the atmosphere of peace there, and a very dangerous act of pushing the situation to the brink of a war.

The U.S. is now running the whole gamut of gimmicks to conceal the provocative and aggressive nature of the war rackets kicked up by it. It is mobilizing reptile trumpeters to claim that the war rackets with the south Korean puppet forces are not problematic as they are "regular ones for defense". It is describing the U.S.-Japan-south Korea joint naval military drills as "humanitarian ones" aimed at search and rescue operations at the time of disaster.

But the world people clearly know that the U.S.-led military drills are aimed to deliberately escalate tensions on the Korean peninsula and that they are offensive attack drills for invading the DPRK from A to Z.

The DPRK has made every possible effort to defuse tensions and create the atmosphere of peace through dialogue and negotiations against confrontation of strength on the peninsula. The U.S. is trying to escalate the confrontation between the north and the south by throwing a wet blanket over such efforts of the DPRK.

The U.S. war rackets are aimed to get versed in the methods for mounting a preemptive strike at the DPRK.

If the U.S. persists in the moves for military threat against the DPRK, obsessed by anachronistic illusion, it will invite only disgrace and ruin.
