DPRK Premier Discusses Steps to Prevent Flood Damage
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- DPRK Premier Pak Pong Ju made a field survey of the work to prevent flood damage.

Going round several places in Pyongyang and Nampho cities, he acquainted himself in detail with the dredging work in the River Taedong, the management of the sluice gates, etc., and held a consultative meeting.

The meeting discussed the issue to rationally adjust the water level of the river and increase the water passage ability so that flood damage do not occur.

The premier underlined the need for the relevant units to make real-time monitoring of the amount of the water flow and water level of the river and thoroughly establish an automatic controlling system for the sluice gates in order to protect the lives and properties of the people from flood and prevent natural damage in various fields of national economy.

Earlier, he learned about the fertilizer production at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and underscored the need to increase the production by scrupulously managing equipment and improving technical control.
