President Kim Il Sung founded the branch academy on July 13, Juche 43 (1954), clearly indicating the way to be followed by it and leading its scientists, technicians and officials to bring about innovations in scientific researches.

Leader Kim Jong Il made sure that the branch academy was built into a comprehensive scientific research institution in the field of light industry and led scientists and technicians to positively contribute to building a rich and powerful country with signal achievements in researches.

The branch academy has developed into the nation's reliable scientific research base of light industry and successfully carried out its revolutionary tasks for the past six decades since its founding.

A meeting took place here on Saturday.

A congratulatory message sent by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the scientists, technicians and officials of the branch academy greeting its diamond jubilee was read out at the meeting.

The congratulatory message highly praised the scientists, technicians and officials of the branch academy for registering great achievements in the scientific researches to develop the light industry of the country by devoting all their wisdom and enthusiasm with intense loyalty to the party and the leader and warm patriotism.

Son Kyong Nam, director of the branch academy, made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches.
