Kim Il Sung Always Remembered by World's Progressive People
Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- It is one of undying feats performed by President Kim Il Sung that he had made great contributions to achieving the cause of global independence.

The President had always attached great importance to developing the anti-imperialist national liberation movement in other countries.

In the latter half of the 1950s when the DPRK had a hard time of postwar reconstruction, the President rendered sincere assistance to the Algeria people in their struggle for national liberation against imperialism.

In the early 1960s when the U.S. created the "Caribbean crisis" in a bid to foil the Cuban revolution, he gave all sorts of assistances to the Cuban people.

During the Vietnamese war, Kim Il Sung took all measures to assist materially and morally the Vietnamese people in their national salvation war against the U.S., while sending the air force of the Korean People's Army and supplying millions of military uniforms to Vietnam. Deeply moved by his revolutionary fidelity, former Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh praised Kim Il Sung as a savior and his brother.

Kim Il Sung had fully supported the Cambodian and Laotian peoples in their national salvation struggle against the U.S. and the national liberation struggle in colonial countries like Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The first Namibian President Sam Nujoma said it was entirely ascribable to Kim Il Sung's support that Namibia could achieve its independence.

Former Mozambican President Samora Moises Machel said that his people could throw off the fetters of slave as they waged a resolute struggle in the way indicated by Kim Il Sung, a great hero.
