Wreaths Laid before Statues and Grave of Kim Hyong Jik
Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the statue of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea, in Ponghwa-ri, Kangdong County, Pyongyang and before his grave in Mangyongdae on Thursday on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of his birth.

Seen standing before the statue and grave were wreaths from supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, the chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel and working people and school youth and children.

Laid before the statue and grave were wreaths in the name of the C.C., the WPK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.

Also placed there were wreaths in the name of working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units, educational, public health and media institutions and party and power organs, enterprises, farms, etc. in Pyongyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Hyong Jik, looking back on his revolutionary life and exploits.

Floral tribute was paid to his statues at Kim Hyong Jik Military Medical University and in Sakju County, North Phyongan Province and Junggang County, Jagang Province on the same day.
