The statement said that the association fully supports the special proposal of the DPRK as a just patriotic one for national reunification reflecting the desire of all fellow countrymen for the nation's security, peace and prosperity and the requirement of the times.

The statement demanded the south Korean authorities stop the far-fetched assertion beyond common sense that their largest-ever war drills aimed at "capturing Pyongyang" are "annual" and "defensive".

It also urged the authorities to halt all their military hostile acts against fellow countrymen.

It also called upon the north and the south to jointly mark the anniversaries of the July 4 joint statement and the October 4 declaration which shine in the history of struggle for accomplishing the sacred cause of national reunification, remove misunderstanding and distrust and open a new phase for reconciliation and unity through sincere dialogue.

The statement went on:

Overseas Koreans strongly demand the south Korean authorities positively respond to the bold decision and sincere special proposal of the DPRK.

The General Association of Koreans in China and all Koreans in China will turn out in the nationwide struggle for translating into reality the patriotic reunification proposal advanced by the DPRK to reject war and pave the road to improving the inter-Korean ties from the standpoint of By Our Nation Itself.
