Chongryon Officials Support Special Proposal of NDC of DPRK
Tokyo, July 5 (KNS-KCNA) -- Officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) released statements in support of the special proposal of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK calling for opening a new phase of mending the north-south relations on the three principles of national reunification.

Kang Chu Ryon, chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, said the special proposal is the realistic one for easing the tension of the north-south relations and achieving the reunification of the country, the greatest desire of the nation.

Kim Yong Ju, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, said officials of the youth league and youth and students strongly demand the south Korean authorities opt for achieving the independent reunification of the country on the three principles of national reunification and in the idea of By Our Nation Itself as declared in the special proposal.

Jo Han Ju, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Teachers in Japan, said that the special proposal for promising the nation once again to invariably adhere to the principle of independence and solve all pending issues between the north and the south enjoys full support and approval of all the Koreans as it reflects the aspiration and wishes of the nation to reunify the country with their concerted efforts free from outside forces' interference.

Hwang Myong, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, said the special proposal reflects the sincerity and will of the DPRK to dispel distrust and defuse confrontation at any cost and open up a fresh turning phase of mending the north-south relations.

Jon To Hyon, chairman of the Miyagi Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, said the special proposal is one for national reunification reflecting the three principles of national reunification-- independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--published in 1972, and the aspiration of all Koreans and the demand of the present times.

Kim Chun Gwon, chairman of the Hyogo Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, said that the enthusiasm of Koreans for reunification is running high to put an end to the history of the territorial partition and national division, improve the north-south relations and open a new era of peace and prosperity in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.
