DPRK Channels Big Efforts into Preventing Flood Damage
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to prevent flood damage.

Officials and other people across the country are stepping up the work to readjust rivers and streams, prevent landslides and repair roads in a bid to protect the precious assets of the country including land and forests.

Counties have laid earth of more than 80,000 cubic meters, laid feldspars of at least 30,000 square meters and filled stones of about 15,000 cubic meters to repair dikes.

Embankments have been readjusted in Kaesong, Huichon and Nampho cities.

Counties qualitatively repaired minor embankments to prevent land from washing away. Counties adjacent to mountains are channeling big efforts to anti-landslide projects.

Counties in North Hwanghae Province readjusted drainage systems.

Forestry management stations readjusted waterways to prevent tree nurseries from being inundated and built various structures.

All provinces are scrupulously organizing road repair and management.
