Japan Accused of Trying to Justify Its Participation in War
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun's Nation in south Korea grouping at least 120 organizations for national movement held a press conference outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on July 1.

At the press conference the organization condemned Japan for trying to justify its participation in war by allowing the exercise of the "right to collective self-defense" through the reinterpretation of the "Pacifist Constitution" which stipulates Japan's renouncement of a war and bans it from having access to army.

It demanded Japan deeply repent of the crimes committed by it against the Korean nation in the past and make an apology and reparation for them.

It lashed out at the U.S. for instigating Japan to exercise the "right to collective self-defense" which will bring the atmosphere of war to Northeast Asia.

Then, a written protest addressed to the Japanese prime minister was read out.

That day, representatives of the Council of Bereaved Families of Men of Merit for Independence, the Federation of Homogeneous Nation Movement Organizations and other organizations for national movement and religious organizations also protested against Japan's decision to reinterpret the Constitution.
