Special Proposal of NDC of DPRK Is Patriotic One: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The special proposal made by the National Defence Commission of the DPRK is a patriotic one which can be accepted by anyone who is concerned about the destiny and future of the nation.

The improvement of the north-south relations desired by the whole nation can not be achieved by one side's unilateral efforts only.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in an article. It goes on:

The improvement can only be realized by easing the political and military confrontation and promoting the reconciliation, unity and cooperation, while giving priority to the requirements and interests of the nation on the three principles of national reunification which the authorities of the north and the south jointly agreed and solemnly declared at home and abroad, and in the spirit of By Our Nation Itself.

If one pays lip-service to "dialogue" but slanders the other side and seeks the confrontational rackets behind the scene, the distrust and confrontation between the north and the south can never be dispelled and no progress can be expected in the movement for national reunification.

So, the NDC of the DPRK sent the special proposal to the south Korean authorities as they had sought only the confrontation and mocked at the reunification issue with the wicked "assertions" and "declarations". The special proposal was out of the desire that they would handle all problems between the north and the south on the principle of independence, not imitating others and listening to others.

Invariable is the stand and will of the DPRK to mend the north-south ties on the three principles of national reunification and in the spirit of By Our Nation Itself and defend peace on the Korean peninsula and usher in a turning phase for national prosperity.

Whether the road for developing the north-south relations and achieving national reunification and national prosperity is open or not depends on the south Korean authorities' attitude.
