Stop to Suppression of Teachers Union Demanded
Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Vice-Chairperson of the Central Association of Korean Nationals in Russia Ri Chae Son released a statement on June 29 denouncing the south Korean authorities' persistent crackdown on the Teachers Union of south Korea.

The statement accused the south Korean authorities of outlawing the Teachers Union that comprises the teachers of primary, secondary and high schools and depriving it of its legitimate status.

The union has conducted legitimate and righteous activities for the past 15 years, the statement said.

The south Korean authorities crack down on anything whether it is a legitimate political party, media or trade union if they regard it obstructive to maintaining their power, the statement added.

It demanded an immediate stop to the suppression of the Teachers Union.
