Japan's Moves for Exercise of "Collective Self-defense" Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- More than 70 civic and public organizations of south Korea including the People's Action for Realizing Peace against War and the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps held a press conference outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on July 1.

They accused Japan of mulling the exercise of the "right to collective self-defense" by changing the interpretation of the Constitution with an aim to stage comeback to Korea, far from making an apology and reparation for its past crimes.

If Japan is allowed to exercise the right, not only the Korean peninsula but the whole of Northeast Asia will be exposed to the danger of a war, they held.

Intolerable are the Japanese government's moves to exercise the "right to collective self-defense" by changing the interpretation of the Constitution in a deceptive manner quite contrary to the desire of the world people for peace, they warned.

They voiced strong opposition to the moves of Japan to exercise the right under the patronage of the U.S.

They urged Japan to stop distorting the past war crimes and roll back its policy for the revival of militarism.
